Assesment

Upon reviewing the discussion for assessments, I found some information that was new to me and very useful for me in the classroom. With all the assesment tools available now, such as, Convey and Kidspiration, there are many levels of being able to meet the students needs in giving them the information they need at competeing an assignment. Assesment does help to offer the opprotunity to evaluate the studetns understanding of a topic or subject area by their level of performance on certain subject matter. The many assesment tools available help to aid in the students behavior, homework and for teachers, lesson plans. The many varities of assesment offer the student the opportunity to respond and help them to be more successful.

Throughout this course I have learned the many varities and different resources out there available for students in the classroom, with homework, behavior, task management, and assesment. There are many tools out there for educators to use and help one another. Creating a web page, pageflake, blog or even an eportfolio will offer you the opprotunity to get your information out there and be able to use other imformation from other educators to incorporate in your classroom.

Being as I am in special education, the tools for assesment will be very useful for me and I intend to use them on many occasions throughout the course of my teaching career. The tool CLICK is an awesome tool used to help students enrich the information they are recieving and to independantly modify information the get from the teacher to prevent them from falling behind. Many of the tools create an enviroment that make learning more interactive and fun. Technology for the students is now second nature, so, we as educators need ot get on board and learn the useful tools we can.

Visualizing with Technology

I found the discussion and subject matter concerning Visualizing with Technology very new to me. I found it interesting the many ways I can be using technology, computers, Elmos, and white boards in the classrooms. It is amazing to me the many ways that teachers can put information from their computers to the whiteboards. Teachers can use the white boards to post information from their computers to the students easier and in a more understandable way. Students can find their success rate and their confidence in the classroom with computers will undoubtably raise with technology being integrated early on in the classroom at a younger age. I find that their are many resources available to the students and to the teahers that can be managed and posted on the white boards or even through a BLOG for the students to access and even respond in a more effective manner. I will hope that I will become more effective at putting information out there for my students depending on the age group for them to particiapte in open discussions and forums to benefit them and their success rate in the classroom.

In creating a paper on Web 2.0 tools, I doscovered a whole new world of technology and tools to use and integrate into the classroom. There really should be no excuse for any teacher to say that they cannot "do technology", because of the toolsthey have now, and the yare more and more simple. In my job of dealing with children in special education, it can be difficult to find certain tools and equipment to use with the children. But i have found many tools to use thanks to the web and BLOGs, wikispaces and numerous other websites out there that share their information and want to help. There is a GREAT lego website that can be used in my classroom as a reward for those that are keeping on track and doing their work. In my line of work, children with autism are so drawn to music and the consistnacy that beats in music have. There is a web site that can be used in any area of study in a classroom that is so adaptive to whatever age group you may have if ther are students with an intrest in music. The web site is http://creatingmusic.com , is is wonderful!! There are many other websites out there as well for educators to use. And in getting out there and looking you will be amazed what you can find. Again, blogger isa great tool, as well as, pageflakes, and any other educational website. Check them out and always be willing to share your information. You are not only helping out a teacher but you are benefitting to the success of the student.

social bookmarking and voicethread

You sure can learn alot about technology through any type of course or search on the computer. I have learned that as an eductor, bookmarking can be very useful in having an advantage to making resources available to your students. When you are engaged upon a certain topic you can bookmark it to make it more readily available to your students as well as to other educators and keep them on track with what you are doing in the classroom. Being able to have information on the topic at hand there as a quick reference is very substancial in performing everyday assignments and topics you are wanting your students to be more aware of and study on. This is also a great advantage for teachers to be able to bookmark topics to asses and cooperate on the same subject as well as the same level for all students.
VoiceThread is absolutely awesome to to me and my looking at what it involves. From an educators standpoint, you are able to allow your students so much more involvment in the subject area and on a more personal basis. This can allow your students and even outsiders to view you and what you are doing and go as in depth as needed for each subject area you are putting "out there" on the web. Allowing students as well to create their own voicethread can be ultimaltely a powerful tool in giving them creativity to open them up to exploring their subject matter and themselves.

My Favorite Sites

edublogs.org
Oh my goodness. I shad no idea all that was involved in even being connected on the internet and using information from the internet. I myself and so guilty of using information incorrectly on and from the internet. I am glad that I am now more aware of the copyright rules and fair use of being on the internet. For many of you that have questions about this a good site to visit is http://www.stfransis.edu/cid/copyrightbay/index.htm. You can learn alot if you investigate. And in this case it is wise to investigate especially as educators and using hte internet in the classroom.
